Kerrigan Network KRGN

Dash fork with Sapling privacy and one genuinely new idea — Hivemind, a BLS-signed reputation layer that makes rented-hash reorgs structurally hard — priced down by economics that send 80% of the reward away from miners.

About Kerrigan Network

sources: official materials · verified 2026-10-13

Kerrigan Network integrates Zcash's Sapling zk-SNARKs into a Dash-derived C++ codebase via Rust FFI — and adds Hivemind, a secondary consensus layer where daemons sign blocks with aggregated BLS signatures and reputation accrues with age (UNKNOWN/NEW/ELDER). Because reputation needs ten blocks of maturation, rented hashrate from marketplaces cannot buy reorg weight on demand — a structured defense for low-hashrate chains, and the project's real contribution. Deterministic builds (Rust, 200+ pinned crates, SHA-locked) suggest genuine engineering care. The economics are the counterweight: only 20% of the block reward reaches miners (20% PoW, 20% masternodes, 40% Growth Fund, 15% treasury, 5% dev), privacy is optional in the 2016-Zcash pattern that collapses anonymity sets, and a ~$4,930 BroodNode puts majority governance under $50K — a purchasable chain. One principal anonymous developer (later joined by two named co-founders with PIVX history); the announced V2 'AI inference marketplace' has no code.

sensors, not shills — verify before acting

Risks

high

Governance capture is priced: a ~$4,930 BroodNode implies majority governance costs under $50K on a ~$133K network — the vulnerability has a price tag.

high

Only 20% of the block reward reaches miners — 80% flows to masternodes/treasury/'Growth Fund'; PoW security budget is structurally starved.

med

Optional privacy replaying 2016-era Zcash: shielded usage is the minority by design default, shrinking the anonymity set the tech depends on.

med

One principal anonymous developer; V2 roadmap item has no code — verify any commit velocity before treating activity as progress.
